Freya von Moltke
Is it boiling yet?

Yes, it is. I’m painting constantly now that my applications are handed in. I’m painting Freya Von  Moltke, there was something about her gaze and detached  appearance. I’m just about finished but will figuratively sit  on it for a month or so because additions are brewing. She also fits into my love for the ugly/beautiful.

I have a date with the studio tomorrow where my sketchbook is sleeping and I’ll take some photos of it for you. Because of my promised productivity, I’ve rewarded myself with a shipment of new paints!

Kyla Harris’s recent body of work stems from numerous NHS appointments and her experience of restricted mobility. Her installations and sculptures are of surrealistic domestic objects made from primarily used or expired medical supplies. Notions of dis/comfort, sustainability and the home are left as remnants of subverted interiors for the viewer to experience. Because of Harris's disability, much of her sculpture is collaborative. She has carers or personal assistants that construct and assist in the making of her work.
